Eternity

One of the greatest things about being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is knowing that families can be together forever, here on earth, and also in the next life.  Probably, the only thing greater than knowing that, is to actually participate in the ceremony that seals your family for time and all eternity.

On August 1, 2014, 8 years exactly from the day Cody and I were married, our family was able to be sealed in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity.  What an amazing ceremony this is and the spirit felt, words can not describe.  Being able to see your children in that beautiful temple, dressed in white, is absolutely amazing.

California 2013

So for our first family vacation in 7 years we decided to take the kids to Disneyland and Sea World.  All-in-all it was a great time and something that I'm sure we will all remember whether it be the good moments, the bad moments, or both.  Here are some of the pics.

Beach

Our kids' first time at the beach.  Teigan absolutely HATED it.  He was screaming the whole time and trying to climb up Cody and I anytime we got even remotely close to the water.

Cody found a crab crawling on the pier and Braxton wanted to hold it.  The first time Cody gave it to him it started crawling and Braxton thought it was going to pinch him so he dropped it.  Cody gave it back to him and he held it for a few minutes.  Thanks to my mom for getting this pic for us while I was preoccupied with the other kids.

Universal City Walk

We met up with my brother one day and he took is to Universal City Walk, which is where Universal Studios is but it's basically just a bunch of shops and places to eat before you actually go into Universal Studios (which we didn't do because it was way too much for our kids to not be able to do anything because they're too little).

The guitar in this picture is a giant replica of somebody famous' actual guitar (I can't actually remember who, I think it was Van Halen but I might be wrong).  I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture because it was really huge, taller than the building behind it.

This is a rotating globe right outside the entrance to Universal studios.

Tyson and Kaitlyn thought this was so fun to hang on to Benny's arms and have him lift them up.

 Hollywood

My brother also took us to Hollywood.  Strange people there.  They also have people dressed up that will let you take pictures with them but they expect a tip in return.  Anyway, side story here, there was an "Ariel"  there that looked like she was on crack and Kaitlyn was extremely upset that I wouldn't let her get her picture taken with her.  I told her that when we went to Disneyland Ariel would be there and she could get her picture then.  When we saw Ariel at Disneyland she was in her human form and Kaitlyn said "that's not Ariel, Ariel is a mermaid."  I hadn't realized that she hadn't actually seen the movie and so I had to explain to her what happens.  Made me laugh for sure.

The boys had their picture taken with this guy from "Halo" I guess.  Tyson was super excited to be able to hold his gun.

We also did one of those tours that show you where some of the stars live and the restaurants/bars they have built.  The tour guide was super funny, some parts of the tour were interesting and some were boring.    Sorry, they drive by these places so fast it's almost impossible to take pictures.  Some things I found interesting:

  1.  The older stars had/have fairly modest homes with beautiful lawns and gardens in the front yard. (Betty White, Lucille Ball, Judy Garland)
  2.  Jay Leno has a THREE STORY GARAGE built into the side of a hill for all of his vehicles.
  3.  Frank Sinatra's home has been demolished. (Sad Day)
  4.     The Beverly Hillbilly's was actually filmed in Bel Air, not Beverly Hills.  And along with that The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was not actually filmed in Bel Air but I can't remember where he said it was filmed, I'm sure you could Google it if you really want to know.
  5.  And for anyone who cares (or would have cared back in early 2000 or so)  Justin Timberlake's fence is so high you can't even see the roof of his house and his house is the only one we saw that has a guard shack with a guard in it 24/7.  Also, they playboy mansion is not visible at all either.

Disneyland

I love this picture.  The two boys weren't scared of anything at all.  I love how Braxton has his hands in the air and a huge smile on his face but his eyes are closed.

Inside Mickey's house.  Teigan pretty much wanted nothing to do with any of the characters and would try to get as far away as possible.

Right inside the entrance of the park.  There are always people taking pictures here so it can be hard to get a good one.

While I was waiting in line to see Tinkerbell with Tyson, Kaitlyn and Braxton, Cody and my mom decided to get Teigan's face painted.  So of course the others had to have theirs done too when we got back.  Obviously Kaitlyn wasn't happy about something here but I don't remember what it was, she spent a lot of time pouting about something.
Katie loved seeing the princesses.  She spent a lot of time here with Cinderella talking about Rapunzel (who is her favorite, and she didn't get to see).

 Disneyland California Adventure

FYI: I hate rollercoasters and Cody forced me to go on this.  I know, I know, I'm a baby.  I tried everything I could think of to get out of this stupid thing.

These army men from Toy Story were super cool.  They came out in this army truck and started drumming on metal cans and then called a bunch of kids from the audience to come and play with them.  They acted like different toys and as soon as someone said freeze they had to hold their position like the toys do on the movie.  Tyson was able to do it (in the red shirt) and absolutely loved it.

These next pictures are in Cars Land which is pretty neat and was Braxton's favorite part of the whole trip.  Anyway they have Red, Mater, and McQueen that drive around following an employee that wears a headset and they have different sayings as they go by.

Sea World

Sea World was not what we were expecting.  We were thinking it would still be like it was 10 years ago when we went but it was very different.  The shows were not as entertaining as they used to be but our kids enjoyed them and that's all that really mattered.  Not too many pictures to post but outside the penguin encounter they had these and the kids had to have their picture taken.  Teigan was not a fan of this either.

Last But Not Least

The San Diego Temple.  In my opinion it is the most beautiful temple.  Absolutely loved being able to go and see it.  Next time we hope to go in.

Grandpa Ray

In January we lost the sweetest old man I have ever met, Cody's grandpa, Ray Summarell.  He never had a bad word to say about anyone and was always telling stories from his days in the Army and early days from his marriage.  Ray was the first person in Cody's family to make me feel like I was truly part of their family.  Our kids absolutely loved him and I will never forget how no matter how bad of a day Ray was having he would always play with them.  We will all miss him and his "horse kisses" so much but we are also happy that he is no longer suffering.

Kaitlyn Turns 6

Six years.  Time goes by too fast.

We were blessed with such a beautiful little girl 6 years ago and she is growing up to be such a sweet young lady.  She has the kindest heart, always giving hugs to anyone.  Most days she is my biggest helper and she absolutely loves being a big sister.  She is so smart (which she gets from me).  She is also quite the social girl, (I'm not sure where that comes from) she has so many friends at school that I can't keep track of them.  She also has a little attitude somedays, (some people say that comes from me too but I like to think it's from her dad) and I don't know if I will make to bedtime but somehow we always get through it.  I am learning to have patience with her.  I love this little girl and I hope that as she grows up we will be as close as my mom and I are.

Halloween 2012

Halloween was so much fun this year.  This was the first year that Braxton completely understood the concept and he was so cute.  He would run behind Tyson and Kaitlyn from house to house always watching me to make sure that it was ok.

2012 Family Photos

So a friend of mine entered me into a contest last December to win a photo session with an amazing photographer, Tai Lee Grant, and I won.  Since I was pregnant we decided to wait until after the baby was born and have new family pics done.  She took some amazing photos and here are some of my favorites.

Tonsils

Our poor little Tyson.  It seems as though anything medical that happens in our family happens to this little guy.  He is the only one that has to wear glasses, the only one with major dental issues, the only one that can fall 15 feet and not have a single scratch or bruise, and the only one (so far) that had to have his tonsils out.

This summer we noticed this horrible odor coming from him and after taking him to the dentist and trying different mouthwashes it was determined that it was not a dental issue and we were referred to Dr. Catten.  Tyson's tonsils were so big and had big pits in them that were causing bacteria to form so we had to schedule a tonsilectomy.  This was done in August (it seems as though everything in our house happens in August, we're going to start hibernating for this month). Tyson had no idea what he was in for, he was excited to be able to eat all the popsicles he wanted.  Unfortunately for him the fun didn't last long, within just a few days he didn't want anymore popsicles or jello.  He wanted to eat "real food" as he would always tell me.  As always this little guy got through it like a champ.  It amazes me how grown up he is, he handles everything that is thrown at him so well and barely complains about any of the testing or countless doctor appointments he has to endure.

Tyson Turns 7

It is so hard to believe that 7 years ago we had our first child. Tyson is growing up to be such a kind and loving person. I am so proud of him in every way and am so glad that I was blessed to be his mother. I love this little boy and enjoy watching him grow and learn.

Baby Boy In 3D

So I'm I horrible updater but basically everything is going great, baby boy is growing like he should be and like any typical kid did not want to cooperate for the 3D ultrasound and kept his face hidden as much as possible. These are the better pics we were able to get.

Announcing...

We're excpecting again!!  Baby number 4 is due July 22, and so far it's been a pretty good pregnancy (knock on wood).  I am over the morning sickness for the most part but am extremely tired all the time, I was never this tired with the other pregnancies so I'm hoping this starts to pass soon.  Tyson and Kaitlyn are excited to have a new baby around and both are hoping for a little girl, Braxton isn't sure about what's going on and always tells us there is no baby because he "can't see it mommy."

Family Pics

We had family pics done in June and they turned out amazing.  We had them done by Nichole Crowly who does Lazy C Photography and I would reccommend her to anyone.  We will definitely be using her again.

These are just some of our favorites.  There are so many that it's hard to choose which ones to put on here.

Happy Birthday!

Tyson turned 6 on the 14th of this month (and he also started kindergarten this year).  I can't believe how fast time goes by, it's amazing how much he's grown and how smart he is.  We got him a new bike, it's kind of like the old school big wheels but all souped up.  You get going on it and then you stop peddaling and turn the handle bars and you can spin around in circles.  He loves it.  We also had a pinata for him and all of the kids had a great time trying to break it open.

Have to love those trick candles.
